Weather:
I was surprised at the temperature variance between day and night. It actually got chilly.
This is late but I’m going to New York next week so I figured I’d put it up. If you have any New York suggestions give me a yell.
Originally I was going to do this travelogue style and try and post the photos in some sort of fantastical retelling way but instead I put them up in a skewed alphabetical order and I’ll just put up some random thoughts. Deal? Deal.
If I didn’t quit smoking we would’ve stopped here to stock up on craft supplies, snacks and camel nonfilters.
There may be some skating later on but please keep in mind that Such Luck is now 90% food. As you can see I went gourmet and hit up Arbys for curly fries and Beef N Cheddars.
‘Home of the Aztecs.” If we had this at a school in Chicago there’d be protests and petitions.
On the way home after a 5 day weekend.
I slept here. It fixed my back.
This was like Walmart for liquor. There was a semi-topless girl there.
They almost had to call the cops because we were putting on a demo without prior approval.
Arizona has a Fulton.
Every park we went to had a bathroom and nice little additions like this. It was unusual.
Charlie makes his own Del Taco table on the last day.
I don’t remember the name of this park but it was a fun one. Charlie throws a disaster over the safety cone hazard.
Same spot, this time a smith. Charlie’s rocking the ultra limited edition Such Luck Lt. Loosetrucks shirt. Those are probably worth some money.
I’m not sure why they don’t have Coke tall boys here. It seems like those would go over anywhere.
Comb?
Skated my first real pool. It ended like this.
Cowtown bulletin board.
Since there’s only one Del Taco in Illinois and its not close we got our fill while we were in Arizona
Sometimes we had it twice a day.
Del Taco has good fries.
Nate’s Del Taco fry burrito creation.
Roadside bar.
Fat Tire cans? Must be an Arizona thing.
This was a point of debate and discussion and I’m not sure we ever got a solid answer. I thought it was to keep out animals or to keep them out of the park. Another theory was the angle encouraged use. If those were in Chicago somebody would’ve figured a way to disassemble it so it could be jumped over in the park.
The Glendale park.
I finally got to try the famous In N Out burger.
It’s been hyped as the best thing I would ever eat and it didn’t quite live up that standard although I will say if they were available here, it would be the go to burger spot.
In the van with friends.
Jacob was in town visiting from Indiana. Just one of the many midwesterners we ran into. This carwash spot was the last thing we skated before heading to the airport.
Flying out over the mountains.
Lee Bender was nice enough to take some time to show us some spots and take some photographs. He also got into a serious race with this guy on the scooter.
I enjoyed this spot tremendously. Nate gets credit for the photo.
Front tail at the Northern Ditch. Some local drunks wandering by told us we sucked and then blew kisses. Fun spot.
Nate with a back D at the car wash spot.
Two of my favorite pictures from the ditch. Click for the full size photos. Nate boneless at the Northern Ditch as the sun sets.
Nate – Northern ditch ollie.
Unabomb frontside air.
Nick lurking at the wedge.
Nick embraced the wine and cheese gypsy lifestyle.
This was the strictest park we went to. We had to get ID cards. They spelled my name wrong.
At Ohare leaving Chicago.
Standard issue palm tree.
Papa Johns pizza. For some reason they don’t have these in Chicago.
Papa Johns vegan style.
We spent the most time skating Pecos. That parks a lot of fun.
We were skating Pecos the first day and the Good Ole Boys rolled up. Chris with a back tail. You can find this footage on Skate Illinois.
Pita Jungle.
This was the membership park. Can’t remember the name.
Not Del Taco, Qdoba, which is like Chipolte. I didn’t think it was too bad but every one else had nothing but bad things to report.
We hit a lot of QTs. The one by our hotel was always happening and without fail the people working there were happy to say whats up and serve you in a quick, courteous, ultra-efficient manner.
Where else can you get a 52oz soda.
Pick your poison.
They had a number of weird energy brands.
Ram Jam!
Nate went with krushed ice.
And Diet Mountain Dew.
We saw this quarter pipe on the highway.
It was for sale.
Unfortunately this store was closed. I wanted to go inside to see what a place called ‘Rainbows from Heaven’ sold.
Charlie instigated a visit to Red Robin.
A full meal after a long day of skating.
Red Robin burger.
The waitress was very nice. She brought a variety of dipping sauces.
Sessions. We don’t have this fine beer in Chicago. It comes in Red Stripe style bottles. I think all beer should come in those.
This was the slippery park.
We didn’t stay and skate. It was a bit of a madhouse.
It’s the southwest so of course there’s this guy.
This is the Starbucks park.
I think it was donated by some baseball player but I mostly remember it having a Starbucks. It was fun to roll around.
Even though it looks pretty empty, both times we went to Tempe it was a bit of a crash up derby.
Not my favorite. Still I’d love to have it here.
I think the park I had the most fun skating was the wedge. It’s just weird enough.
Todd contemplating.
Todd killed it on this transfer. If you look closely you can see me shooting this with the polaroid in the background. You’ll see that shot shortly.
A local waxed all the coping at this park as we rolled up making it frighteningly slick.
The wedge.
This was a weird fat Morley doppleganger we saw. Bizarro Morley.
The Wutang mansion?
And now the polaroids. Up and at it early. Back home late.
The Good Ole Dry Arizona division. I like this picture because Tim is at the end looking at the camera. You can follow his internet adventures here.
Steve Perdue hip kickflip.
Popshuv.
Chris Poquette shooting me shooting him. This is the second in the mirror series. I’ll post up the other point of view when he sends it over.
Paul Van Berkhum manning the camera.

Double noseblunts.
Last day crew.
Like I said before. Solid crew. Awesome times. I can’t wait till next year. If you want more info about Arizona Skateboarding visit SkateAZ.
Unabomber Nate.
Me staring into the sun.

Charlie won the beard contest.
Then he went old timey. Click for more.
Todd
Arizona.
I didn’t film too much. Mostly just skated and took photos. Here’s some shakey stuff.
Get outside.
